About us

Why we built FindMyDiamond

In the US, diamond buyers can check prices online before they buy. In the UK, most people still have to take the jeweller’s word for it. We built FindMyDiamond so you can see what a diamond should cost, in pounds, before you hand over thousands.

We’re a small British company, not a high-street jeweller. We work out the fair price the same way for every diamond, whether or not you ever buy one through us.

How our fair price works

We group graded diamonds by type, shape, carat range, colour, clarity and cut. The fair price for each group is its median: half the stones cost more and half cost less. When a diamond is priced below that, we show you by how much.

Supplier prices are pulled in every 4 hours, so the numbers move with the market. The fair price is an estimate, not a valuation. For insurance or resale, ask a qualified gemmologist.

How we make money

Checking a price costs nothing and you don’t need an account. If you like a diamond, you can enquire about it and we’ll source it for you from the trade at a transparent price.

Because you’ve already seen the fair price, you can hold our quote up against it. There’s no obligation to buy.
