Privacy policy

FindMyDiamond (“we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect

We only collect what you give us through the site:

  • Price checks and the concierge waitlist: your first name, email address, when you plan to buy, your budget (if you give one) and the diamond details you searched for (type, shape, carat, cut, colour and clarity). Waitlist sign-ups can also include the topics you’d like help with.
  • Enquiries about a diamond: your name, email address, your message and the diamond you asked about.
  • Accounts: your email address, which we use to send you a sign-in link, and the diamonds you save while signed in.
  • Price alerts: your email address, the diamond details you asked us to watch and any target price you set.
  • Marketing consent: whether you ticked the box to receive price alerts and updates. The box is never ticked for you.

We do not collect your postal address or payment details. To limit repeated form submissions, we briefly hold your IP address in memory. We don’t store it.

How we use your data

  • To reply to your enquiry and source the diamond you asked about.
  • To show you full price-check results and follow up on your search.
  • To tell you when the concierge launches, if you joined the waitlist.
  • To send price alerts and updates, only if you agreed to them.
  • To sign you in and keep your saved diamonds.

We will never sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with the service providers listed below, who process it on our behalf.

Legal basis

We send price alerts and marketing emails based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR), which you give by ticking the consent box or joining the waitlist. We handle enquiries and accounts because you asked us to (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time.

Who processes your data

  • Supabase: our database and sign-in provider.
  • Vercel: hosts the website.
  • Resend: sends our emails, where email sending is set up.

Analytics

We may use privacy-focused analytics to understand how visitors use our site. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate personal data
  • Ask us to delete your personal data
  • Object to or restrict how we process your data
  • Data portability
  • Withdraw consent at any time

To access or delete your data, or to use any of these rights, email privacy@findmydiamond.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.

Data retention

We keep your details until you ask us to delete them or unsubscribe. We will delete your data within 30 days of your request.

Cookies and local storage

This site uses only essential cookies, such as the one that keeps you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. Diamonds you save or add to compare without signing in are kept in your browser’s local storage, on your device.
